A Few Things You'll Need to Handle

  • Your content — You supply the movie. DVD via our included player, or a downloaded file from a device with HDMI output. Public screenings of commercial films may require a public performance license.
  • Streaming content — Streaming from a mobile device requires a strong, reliable WiFi or hotspot signal at the venue. We recommend testing connectivity in advance.
  • Power access — We need access to a standard electrical outlet within reach of the setup area. For remote venues without power, a generator can be arranged — just let us know when booking.
  • Venue permits — For public parks or municipal venues, confirm with your local authority whether a permit is required for a public movie screening.

Common Questions

Premiere Event FAQ

How much space does the 16-foot screen need?

+
The AirScreen 16 is 18 feet wide overall and nearly 16 feet tall. You'll want at least 30–40 feet of clearance in front of the screen for seating, plus space behind and to the sides for anchoring. A standard park field or school lawn accommodates this setup easily. Our team will confirm dimensions for your specific venue when you book.

Do I need a permit to host a public outdoor movie?

+
It depends on your venue and municipality. Public parks and school grounds often require a permit for gatherings of a certain size. You'll also want to consider a public performance license for commercial films shown to a group. We recommend checking with your local parks department and a licensing service like Swank Motion Pictures or Criterion Pictures. We're happy to point you in the right direction.

What's the difference between this and the Backyard Party package?

+
The Premiere Event package steps up to a 16-foot screen (vs 12-foot) and a scaled audio system capable of filling a 250-person crowd. It's designed for parks, fields, school lawns, and corporate venues where a backyard screen would simply get lost. If you're expecting under 75 guests in a private residential setting, the Backyard Party package is the better fit — and easier on the budget.

Can you set up at a public park or school?

+
Absolutely — parks, school lawns, and athletic fields are some of our most common venues for the Premiere Event package. We just need vehicle access to unload equipment and a power source within reasonable reach. For venues without power, we can coordinate a generator — just ask when requesting your quote.

How far in advance should I book?

+
We recommend 3–4 weeks for community and corporate events, especially during spring and summer. Larger events may need additional coordination time. That said, we do take last-minute bookings based on availability — reach out and we'll do everything we can.

What if my event is in a remote location without power?

+
No problem. We can arrange a generator for your event — just mention it when requesting your quote so we can factor it into the setup. This is common for park events, trail-side screenings, and rural venues.
